What Does It Cost?

How Do You Ensure Quality Benefit Gurus™ ?

Never have you had so much control when it comes to vetting Benefit Gurus™. Enrollify combines unparalleled discovery by function, skillset, experience, effectiveness, customer feedback, geography, and social proof. This eliminates the uncertainty, inconsistency, and anxiety inherent in today’s fragmented and regional benefits ecosystem. And, just like Yelp, Uber, and other platforms that you use every day- Enrollify delivers a level of transparency that has never been appreciated inside of the employee benefits industry.

Licensing and Certification?

Our platform is fully integrated with NIPR in order to verify Benefit Gurus™ licensure and carrier appointments. This verification is based on their NPN (National Producer Number) and is conducted at the time of profile set-up and then subsequently each January. We encourage implementation coordinators to double check accuracy at the time of enrollment by verifying team members appointment status with the carriers in question.

What About Results?

Case studies show that the use of the Enrollify platform’s project management utilities including our communication suite, scheduler tools, and virtual options dramatically improve employee engagement. The result has been an average increase of between 15%-22% in the number of employees that are seen by Benefit Gurus™ during open enrollment. When this access is leveraged with the improved effectiveness that is a direct result of quality control through credentialled selection and systematic preparedness on our learning platform, you can begin to imagine what it could mean to your bottom line.

Case Preparation

We pride ourselves on providing what we believe is the most comprehensive set of learning and development resources in the employee benefits industry. Benefit Gurus™ on the platform are encouraged to take courses to build a robust virtual learning CV. Each time they take a course and pass the accompanying exam, they are credited with points to elevate themselves within the community by demonstrating their proficiency.

Mandatory, case-specific coursework is often assigned with each case ensuring that your enrollment team is up to snuff when it comes to products, platforms, and most importantly the strategy that you are trying to execute

Customer Feedback?

After each session with a Benefits Guru™, employees are asked to provide feedback and comments on their interaction. This data is aggregated and included in the profiles of each Benefits Guru™ for your review. Not only does this ensure that they are on their best behavior- it gives you the peace of mind that they will meet your expectations in the same way that a restaurant with 5 Michelin Stars is certain to deliver a great meal.

How are fees set and negotiated With Benefit Gurus™?

Cases that are established on Enrollify by your firm are usually handled by an “implementation coordinator” (In-House, Enrollment Firm, or Freelancer) who serves as the quarterback. During the case set-up they will usually set the parameters and economics based on a variety of factors including complexity, seasonality, language needs, hours of operation, and more. There are three ways to compensate Benefit Gurus™. They can be leveraged independently or in any combination of configuration you believe is best:

  • Per Seen– a fixed dollar amount for each person seen. This is similar to traditional per diem but broken down per employee rather than for “a day’s work”.
  • Per Sold/ Executed Strategy– this is an incentive that is designed to help you and your clients achieve certain objectives. It can be in addition to, or independent of the per seen rate.
  • Commission Split (handled by carriers)

Once established within our system’s “Incentive Set-up”, a notification is sent to anyone you have invited to participate in the role of Benefits Guru™. Within that invitation, Benefit Gurus™ have the opportunity to review the details, requirements, and proposed economic arrangement and subsequently decide to accept, decline, or propose an alternative economic arrangement complete with an explanation of why they feel it is warranted. If they accept your invitation, you have an enrollment team member, if they choose to counter you can agree to terms or move on to another Benefits Guru™ – It’s that simple!

Do I have to file tax forms for my Benefit Gurus™ ?

You should not be responsible for filing 1099-MISC forms for your Benefit Gurus™, freelancers, or other service providers. One of the benefits of paying your freelancer through Enrollify is that, in general, if your Benefits Guru™ or freelancer is correctly classified as an independent contractor you should not be responsible for reporting payments on Form 1099-MISC. The reason being that our escrow service is a “third-party payment network.” When you make payments through our third-party payment network, Form 1099 reporting becomes our responsibility, not yours. Specifically, we are obligated to report payments to independent contractors on Form 1099-K when applicable, which means you should not be obligated to report on Form 1099-MISC. All Benefit Gurus™, freelancers, and service providers classified as U.S. Persons must submit Form W-9 information to us upon profile set-up within the Enrollify site, so that our escrow service can accurately report on Form 1099-K.

The foregoing assumes you have correctly classified your freelancer as an independent contractor instead of an employee. As a reminder, you are responsible to determine proper classification of all freelancers as either independent contractors or employees. For U.S.-based freelancers, you should refer to the IRS guidelines and other federal, state, and local regulations applicable to you.

Naturally, we’re not experts on tax matters for your specific business, so you should consult a tax professional if you have questions or concerns about this or any other tax-related issues. If you’re not based in the U.S. or have additional questions, please consult your local tax representative for more information on filing tax forms in your country.
